Bare-Root Roses: Roses, as well as other shrubs, vines, fruit, and shade trees, are available as dormant bare-root plants in late winter and early spring. Look for bare-root roses that have strong canes and a fresh-looking, well-formed root system. Take care that the plants don't dry out before you get the chance to plant them.
