Bare-Root Roses: Roses, as well as other shrubs, vines, fruit, and shade trees, are available as dormant bare-root plants in late winter and early spring. Look for bare-root roses that have strong canes and a fresh-looking, well-formed root system. Take care that the plants don't dry out before you get the chance to plant them. Keep them out of direct sun and wind. Soak the entire plant in water for an hour or two before planting to be sure the roots and canes are full of moisture. |
